Dolores Ruiz-Chavez LCSW | Clinical Director| Owner

As the Owner, Clinical Director and Therapist at Boldly Resilient Psychotherapy, I am committed to facilitating transformative journeys for my clients. My upbringing in Colorado and Northern New Mexico has fostered a deep connection to the diverse communities and cultures I serve. I earned a bachelor's degree in social work with a minor in Children, Youth, & Families, as well as a master's degree in social work with a concentration in Clinical Therapy from New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU). My professional licenses is an LCSW. I am also an approved supervisor for LMSW and LMHC through the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department.

With over 30 years of experience in social work, I bring a diverse background that encompasses working with children, teenagers, adults, the elderly, individuals with physical and mental challenges, and families. I currently provide individual counseling primarily to teenagers and adults, utilizing an eclectic therapeutic approach grounded in evidence-based practices. This approach is informed by neuroscience and focuses on understanding the subconscious processes, core beliefs, and patterns that contribute to self-sabotage and maladaptive behaviors.

I tailor sessions to align with the mindset and goals of each client while employing challenging techniques that promote exploration and link current behaviors back to traumatic events and adversity. By exploring the subconscious influences that shape our thoughts and actions, I help clients break free from self-sabotaging cycles and reframe limiting core beliefs.

I guide clients in healing their attachment styles, which develop during the early years of life. These emotional reactions and behavior patterns often resurface in adult relationships. The therapeutic alliance is a vital component of effective therapy; establishing a genuine connection in a non-judgmental and safe environment fosters self-discovery, self-compassion, and the courage to explore authenticity. Together, we can shed the masks we wear out of fear of rejection, judgment, and abandonment.

I assist clients in acknowledging and challenging their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations to process pain and cultivate healing. I teach healthy coping skills and model relaxation methods to enhance emotional regulation.

Through a rocky yet enlightening path of self-discovery, awareness, personal growth, and emotional regulation, I have also discarded the maladaptive masks I wore as protective mechanisms. I learned to embrace my feelings and reveal my truth, vulnerability, and authenticity with courage, confidence, and acceptance. This personal transformation has led me to understand my purpose: to help, support, and guide others in their healing journeys.

Cheri Olivas LMSW| Therapist

For more than 25 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through some of life's most difficult challenges. Throughout my career, I have served in Child Protective Services, adoption services, juvenile behavioral health, adolescent substance abuse treatment, and school social work. These experiences have shaped my passion for helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and resilience.

I earned both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from New Mexico Highlands University. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, supported, and understood. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where clients can work through life's challenges, build healthy coping skills, and move toward lasting growth and healing.

Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, school-related issues, grief, or life transitions, I am committed to walking alongside you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based care.
